CONTEMPORARY LIGHTING DESIGN – Good lighting always brings a home to life and adds warmth, mood and makes any home inviting and relaxing. Lighting design has certainly come a long way and designers now, more than ever, with the explosion of contemporary living, are encouraged to push the limits of unusual and contemporary lighting design.
Here are some classic examples that may help bring out your creative side when you next look at adding a little more lighting to your home.

The two examples above are very angular and I like the idea of these being placed into a minimalist interior design. The objective here is obviously to provide subdued and subtle lighting and the designers have done a first class job.

If you are looking to create mood lighting then the above is just perfect. Certainly these are not your average run-of-the-mill lights and even add a sparkle of the artistic flare about them. I really do like the floral patters that makes the whole idea of these most appealing.
Unusual Squid Lighting – sea-life becoming more of an influence in lighting designs.
I just love how unusual the lighting above is, with almost mimicking a squid. The light simply cascades down the elements producing a soft and sparkling glow.

Again, with the flavor of sea, this highly unusual inter-locking star fish light design would easily be a focal point in any interior design.
