How to Install a Wall Oven

HOW TO INSTALL A WALL OVEN – Installing a wall oven it a great way to put the kitchen appliance at a more manageable height and keep it above small children, so it becomes a good safety feature in your kitchen. In this guide we provide details on how to install a wall oven in your kitchen.

 Step 1

You need to check the most suitable cabinet in which to fit your wall oven. This is generally a floor to ceiling cabinet. It also needs to be near the gas supply (if you use mains gas) and have an electrical socket to plug it into.

 Step 2

Make sure the wall cabinet you want to use is perfectly level. Before attempting to install the wall oven read the manufacturers installations instructions carefully and follow these exactly. If you have ANY DOUBTS call in a qualified electrician or gas fitter.

 Step 3

Turn off the electrical power supply in your home at the mains before beginning work. If your oven is a gas oven then also turn off the gas supply. Mark both with a Post It note to tell others that you are working with the electrics and or gas. This will save anyone from accidentally turning these on while you are working.

 Step 4

Remove the oven from the packaging and remove the doors and all accessories inside the oven, such as the trays. Put these to one side and out of the way where you are working.

 Step 5

You now need to jack the oven up to the level of the cabinet. If you do not have a jack then build a frame that is sturdy enough. Alternatively get a friend or two to hold the oven level with cabinet.

 Step 6

Following the manufacturer’s instructions connect the electrical wiring and gas supply (if applicable).

 Step 7

Carefully slide the oven into the cabinet and make sure the wires and gas pipes do not crimp.

 Step 8

Slide the oven in until the oven trim is flush with the front of the cabinet. Once in place use the fixings to screw the oven in place and secure it.

 Step 9

Replace all the oven accessories, such as trays and racks.

 Step 10

Replace the oven door and then turn on the electrical supply and gas supply (if applicable) and test.
