How to Shingle a Shed Roof

HOW TO SHINGLE A SHED ROOF – There are a couple of ways you can protect your shed roof, and the contents of your shed, from the elements, these being by felting a shed roof or apply shingles to a shed roof.  In this VIDEO presentation you can learn how to Shingle a Shed Roof.

How easy is it to shingle a shed roof compare to felting a shed roof?  Felting a shed roof is a little easier, simply because there is no consideration of having to cross align the felt as you would need to do with shingles.  However, you will note in the video that the shingle they are using come in sheet form, just the same as felt so the process is almost the same, apart for overlapping and cross aligning.

Personally I like to see shingles on a roof, rather than just plain and flat felt, it just adds a little character to the shed.  Applying shingles is not all that difficult and follows the same principles and methods for felting a shed roof.  It is a good idea if you can get someone to help you with this project and remember you are going to be working at heights to ensure you use the right ladder for the job and carefully plan this diy project so that you remain safe at all times.

Below is a step by step instructional video that will show you how to shingle your shed roof and this method can be applied to larger roofs, such as a barn.  The video provides some excellent tips and advice so that you can complete the job in a timely fashion and end up with a shed roof that is beautifully shingle and will certainly stand out from those with plain felting.
