MODERN STATELY MANSION – Do you ever look at a home and think that some people really do have it all? Not just in terms of a wonderful interior but with all the modern technology carefully incorporated in to a modern home?
Here is one such home that can only be described as a Modern Stately Mansion… this incredible home should really get your inspirational juices flowing and is packed with some neat ideas and features that I am sure most of us would love in our homes.

Front Exterior View – Sweeping Driveway to the front entrance.
At first glance you get a true sense that the owners of this home wanted to make a statement. The large sweeping driveway and huge under-cover area of the front porch really does enhance the ‘stately’ feel of this home.

Sweeping driveway to the covered front entrance, giving the home a stately appearance.

Looking down the long driveway to the mansion.
From the photograph above you really get a feel for the grandeur of the setting and in fact this modern stately mansion sits on nearly 13 acres which only adds to the persona of this home.

Ample garage space for a collection of cars.
As with all things grand you would expect ample room for your collection of cars and with this home you certainly would not be disappointed. With the photograph above I’m teasing you a little with a glimpse of the indoor swimming pool – scroll down and be prepared for a breath-taking inner view.

Beautiful views across a parkland setting from the terrace of the master bedroom.
If there is one thing I really like about this modern stately home it is the fact that everything is about providing you with lots of space. The terrace from the master bedroom is just amazing and provides the owners with some stunning views across a parkland setting.
I like the use of materials, the glass which makes it feel more open and one with the surroundings. The beautiful floor tiling with natural earthen colors all goes to making the whole design pleasing to the eye; uncluttered and clean.

Magnificent indoor swimming pool with glass roof.
Now for the magnificent indoor swimming pool. I really love the shape and the amount of glass on the walls and ceilings just enhances the overall light and airy feel to the space. Just a large use of glass would also help keep this area very warm which in turn would reduce the heating costs for the swimming pool. I am sure most of you will agree that this is one spectacular looking indoor pool.

Open and inviting entrance to the home.
One of the really nice aspects of creating a stately type home is the fact that the architecture lends itself not only to the grand but to the grand and useful. Stepping out of your car, come rain or shine, is much more pleasant with such a stately drive through porch.

Vast open plan area with vaulted ceilings.
I have mixed feelings regarding the space above. For starters, there is no denying that it is bright and airy. I showed this around to a few friends for comments and I got the same view back that I had – it almost looks a little penitentiary in appearance with the octagonal type structure and the use of the glass balustrade. What enhances this further is the lighting on the walls. What do you think?

No mansion would be complete without a stunning sweeping staircase.
From this angle the space takes on a completely different persona with the sweeping staircase. Considering the amount of wood in the staircase I suspect the interior designers wanted to soften the design, which it did, but it looks a little out of place.
While I do like the home this is one space that is not working for me. Again, you may have a totally different perception and that is the whole point of architecture and interior design – there is no such thing as a ‘one size fits all’.

Modern kitchen that is both functional and beautiful.
I really do like the kitchen. It’s not overly big, from what I can tell from the photograph, but it is nicely laid out, light and airy, which gives it a pleasing look and I am sure it would be a delight to work and spend time in this kitchen.

Modern Bathroom with natural coloring.
Note how the designers have tried to soften the blow of all the tiling by introducing color with the bathroom cabinets and the green glass work surface. Adding color to any room does require careful considering, especially when you are looking at a small room. Dark colors, in small rooms, tend not to work well as they simply make the room look oppressive. However, here lots of light colors have been used, coupled with a large mirror that provides the illusion of space.

What mansion would be complete without a modern cinema?
Finally what modern stately mansion would be complete without its very own cinema room? This is just one part of the home that incorporates a lot of modern technology and which simply enhances the overall persona of the modern stately mansion that has been built here.
I hope this home has provided you with a little inspiration on the things you can do with your own home.
