MULTI LEVEL CONTEMPORARY HOME – Stunning is just the beginning of what describes this incredible multi level contemporary home. The architecture and interior design is extremely well conceived and implemented in order to take full advantage of the home’s surrounding and create an interior that fits in well with a totally modern lifestyle.
How do you create such a beautiful and functional home? The answer lies here with the fact that a Lecturer of Architecture actually commissioned a firm of architects and with two minds acting as one a creation of true vision was born.

With a sense of translucency from the interior to exterior structure that blends in with the coastal environment, this state of the art property is a credit to the owners desire to build a home that is nothing short of spectacular in every respect.
Note the beautiful timbers that support the upper deck of the home. The softness of the timbers is highlighted at night through some extremely careful lighting that is soft, warm and very inviting. You simply get the feeling that if you turned up unannounced that you would be welcomed with open arms and there are not many homes that could boast this attribute.
No matter what part of this home you look at, both internally and externally you get a sense of belonging, a feeling that everything is as it should be and this comes from the expertise of the architect and interior designer.
When you have views, such as these then it would be criminal if these were not taken into consideration when the home is designed. Again, this is where the true expertise of an architect with a passion, not just for the building, but its natural surroundings really pays off.
From the photograph below you can fully appreciate the brilliance of the architects; providing a window of scenery that is simply breathtaking and there is no doubt in my mind that the owners enjoy these views to the full.
The entrance hall is nothing short than pure genius. Due to the materials, such as the tiled flooring, the neutral colors and the use of glass and spot lights, this entrance hall comes to life and is one of the most warming entrance halls I have seen in many years.
One aspect to the entrance hall that is unusual but one that also brings the entrance hall to life is the use of glass. This provides a translucent effect as if the owners have nothing to hide, which is why, for me at least, the entrance hall is just so inviting.
As a small, but important design feature, the glass securing bolts up the stairs are big and bold and that makes the glass feel sturdy and safe. It is always the attention to detail that can really make or break a home and nothing in this home has been left to chance.
When it comes to kitchens these are always such a personal thing. I often think the key, especially in an open-plan environment, is to tie the kitchen in to the rest of the coloration. On that note I recently wrote about a Loft Apartment in New York where I felt the kitchen could have done with a little color as the entire place was stark white.
With this home there is no such conflict. The natural earthen tones of the walls, flooring and cabinets tie in beautifully together. I even like the fact that the owners have included a little green just to show they have a brighter side to their interior design concept.
The kitchen, as you can see is totally functional and has been well thought out for family use with the incorporation of a large double door refrigerator. I also like the social aspects; one with the nicely built in wine rack and two with the fact that it is an open place, making the whole area a very social experience.
Lastly I want to draw your attention to the contemporary ceiling lights – these may be easy to miss, as they are so perfectly introduced and fit so well into the overall contemporary feel of this incredible home.
Open plan area, especially those that are open to the kitchen area create so many benefits on a social scale. It just allows the whole family to get together and socialize and when it comes to entertaining guests there simply is no better design than the open plan.
The upper living area really is sumptuous and the theme of using natural colors is again evident and creates such a relaxing interior. As I gaze upon the photograph above I cannot help but think the TV is misplaced – how could anyone watch TV with views such as these through the patio doors.
Look at the living area from a different angle you can really appreciate the use of the contemporary lighting that creates such a soft mood within the space and therefore produces a room that can be truly relaxed in.
I suppose if you are going to have a Multi Level Home then it only stands to reason that the patio decking area should reflect the same. I really love the concept here of creating little socializing areas or a place where you could easily relax by yourself, taking in the majesty of the scenery beyond.
I opened this article with the comment that this stunning home creates such a wonderful welcoming feel and I will close with the same view. The entire home is just welcoming, from the street view, entrance hall and right the way through the home and this has been achieved with some very well thought out lighting and the abundant use of natural earthen colors throughout.
In my view, this home really does have it all. A welcoming feel, a beautiful relaxing interior and of course those stunning views.
