Shades of Cherry Blossom

SHADES OF CHERRY BLOSSOM – Is there anyone who does not like, or does not appreciate the splendor of a Cherry Blossom tree in full bloom?  I doubt it very much.  With its variations of subtle shades of pink and white Cherry Blossom is a true spectacle of mother nature at her best.  While a lone Cherry Blossom tree is stunning to see in full bloom, nothing can compare to the vision of hundreds of these beautiful trees all in bloom at the same time.

We have a true connection with color, it is after all what makes up our lives and what drives our passions and desires and when we want a color that produces a calming affect there is none better than Cherry Blossom Pink.

Let me take you on a short journey to delight your senses of the wonderful shades of Pink and White.

Mount Fuji Japan - while spectacular is made even more incredible by the blooming Cherry Blossom.

Mount Fuji Japan – blooming Cherry Blossom.

The majesty of Mount Fuji is certainly a sight to behold but the views really come to life with the back drop of blooming Cherry Blossoms.  When it comes to a Japanese Garden Design, I really do not think it would be complete without the stunning blooms of Cherry Blossom in the Spring.

Subtle shades of pink and white make the Cherry Blossom truly beautiful.

The appeal that Cherry Blossom holds lies in the many subtle shades of pink and white and when in full bloom one can only stand in awe of how mother nature can produce such a wondrous sight.

Our love of Cherry Blossom is evident with many people having their skin inked with the blooms.

Cherry Blossom Tattoo

Our relationship with the Cherry Blossom carries such a memorable impact that many people decide to recreate this wonder by having their own personalized tattoo.  It is a way for many to keep alive the blooms throughout the year, and while I’m not a fan of tattoos I can certainly appreciate the affinity people have with this beautiful flowering tree.

The beauty of grouping Cherry Blossoms is clear to see; producing a breathtaking array of deep pinks in the photograph above.  Even the petals that fall add a unique carpet of color to the walkways around this campus.

Washing D.C looks stunning as White Cherry Blossom blooms across the lake and provides such a beautiful and fitting tribute to the Lincoln Memorial.

A true delight to behold and a romantic setting with a river bank lined with pink Cherry Blossom.

Finally a river bank lined with Pink Cherry Blossom. Surly the perfect setting for romance and the sheer calming effect as you walk along the river bank staring up at the blooms and then down at the stunning reflection in the water below.

Is there another sight as spectacular as Cherry Blossom in full bloom?  I would have to say yes, as mother nature has a way of keeping us in awe and inspiring us at the least expected moment.  For me the Spring Flowers and the blooms of the Whites and Pinks of Cherry Blossom can never come soon enough.

    Hi Graham,
I could not agree with you more about the stunning beauty of a cherry blossom. I grew up with large, climbable cherry trees that are etched in my memory. Now as an adult I have several ornamental cherry trees in my yard and I look forward to them awakening each spring. I just love them!
I was hoping you would have a picture of our Nation’s Capitol in bloom. It is a yearly tradition for us and many others to visit DC during “blossom time.” I look forward to it every year because it marks the beginnning of spring and for me is better in sybolism than New Year’s Day.
I was captivated by your picture of the trees lining the lake, that is gorgeous, and wondered where this was taken? The picture that holds Mt Fuji in the background is a beautiful contrast of climates. Love the touch of snow on the mountaintop.
However unlike you I do not find the blossom peaceful or calming, but rather, full of energy. It stirs a passion for life and emotion within me and gives me hope. Perhaps due to its emergence in spring, or it’s connection with our Capitol… maybe both?
I truly enjoyed this article and the pictures you included. They showcased the cherry blossom from different areas of the world displaying their beauty and universal appeal.
    Another great article Graham, Dee
