STUNNING MODERN BATHROOMS – Many of us lead busy lives and often opt for a quick shower. However, designers have really taken to heart that the bathroom should be a place for relaxation. A place where a good soak in the tub gives one time to reflect on life.
When you look closely at modern bathroom designs you will notice that most consist of soft natural colors with little in the way of decorative noise, which provides for a room that is relaxing and peaceful to be in.
To inspire you we have taken a selection of bathrooms that we feel fits the bill when it comes to creating a space where one can lay in the tub and let the hustle and bustle of daily life slip by and wash away the stress.
I really like the bathroom design above, even if it is a little dark. With the right lighting, and in the photograph the designers have used the fireplace and candles to create subtle lighting, it will soften the dark timbers and would work well providing you have a large bathroom.
The stone bathtub is not only stunningly unique it has been well crafted so that it appears soft and inviting. The clever use of the timber surround adds to the entire natural look, topped off with a wonderful stone floor. Design is often about the little things and here I would like to draw your attention to the ‘Pebbles’. I wrote an article on the use of pebbles just the other day and this is a classic example of how well pebbles can set off interior design. If you missed it, here’s the article – Using Pebbles for Interior & Exterior Design
A wooden bathtub? Whether this is real wood or a composite I cannot confirm, but there is no earthly reason why a bathtub cannot be constructed from timber – a good coating of Marine Varnish would certainly seal the timber adequately. Either way, this is a stunning bathtub and note how the designer has created a scene so that it looks right at home with the forest back drop. With a little imagination and effort there is no reason why you could not recreate this in your own home.
If you are into ‘Black’ then this modern bathroom design will certainly appeal. The jet black bathtub is nicely off-set by the two tone charcoal gray and light gray walls. The natural timber flooring also helps soften the impact of the bathtub. While I like the overall effect I think I would go with a different type of timber flooring – something lighter, such as maple just to soften the effect more. Overall a very nice design and one I am sure many people will appreciate.
When it comes to bathroom designs I like them to be simple. Most people who have become acquainted with my style of decor will be aware I favor the ‘Minimalist’ approach and therefore this bathroom above really appeals to me. The soft stone walls and flooring sets the scene while the smoke sheet glass shielding the bathtub compliments the colors of the stone bathtub itself. What I really like here is that the designer has been bold by introducing the White pedestal sinks of an unusual design and these directly contrast with the bathtub adding a new element of elegance.
The round stone / composite bathtub with its dark charcoal coloration is perfectly off-set with the gray marble flooring. To add to the strength of the design the designer has cleverly used dark wood walling. You might just miss this tiny element of the designers intention, but take note of the bathroom mirror and then see how they fit perfectly with the reflection of the water in the bathtub – this may seem like a coincidence to some but this surely is, by careful attention to detail, by design.
The strong jet black walling, bathtub surround and sink counter tops perfectly blend with the maple flooring in this bathroom design. The use of a large mirror with drop down lighting helps to make this bathroom feel light and airy. Overall its a nicely designed bathroom and one where you could relax, soaking in the tub for hours.
Stark and highly contemporary. The white bathtub provides a bold statement with its bulky rectangular shape which is enhanced thought dark colors used on the walls and floors. This would definitely appeal to those who appreciate the Ultra Minimalist look.
The bathroom above is simply sublime and just oozes with calms and relaxation. The wonderful sculptured leaf design bathtub and pedestal sinks provides a beautifully unique bathroom design which is wonderfully laid out on what appears to be a ‘Timber Decking’ floor, which is enhanced by the scenery of the ocean through the large glass panels. If you live by the sea this would be one way to really take advantage of the views and I am sure you could spend all day relaxing in the stunning bathtub.
There are many people that love the idea of a sunken bathtub as these have the effect of making a bathroom look a lot bigger. There is something very suave and relaxing when viewing a sunken bathtub and the photograph really captures the image of pure relaxation and indeed with the side seating area, a place where the bathroom is a place for more than just one.
Of all the bathroom designs this is not only unusual it is just a work of art to behold. Now you might be thinking that it is not practical to have a bathtub surrounded by what is in fact a miniature swimming pool, but I can tell you from first hand experience, where I live, this type of design is actually quite common. The tropical location has stunning views and the designer here takes full advantage of them and everything is surrounded by natural elements, the water in the pool, the wonderfully light timber flooring and the natural earthen tones used to add color to the walls.
The bathroom design above is fun and funky. It is not everyday you come across a stainless steel bathtub and sink basins, but this design works so well because it has been tied in with the unusual colors of mauve in the light fittings and counter tops. All these elements are then crafted around the off-white floor tiles and wall tiles. I like what the designer here has done with the choice of wall tiles and has not gone over-board with the use of the pattern. All in all a very unusual, but certainly appealing, bathroom design.
The final Stunning Bathroom Design is very beautiful. The shape of the bathtub with its large upward curve to support the back means you could spend forever soaking and relaxing. The colors are all soft and bought to life by the use of the natural timbers and the strip of stone walling. The skylight is a particularly nice touch adding to the overall light and airy appearance of the design.
