Submit Article – Article Submission Details, Guidelines & Terms
Please read the following information carefully and then either Register and Log-In to submit your articles.
Who Can Submit Articles?
We allow anyone to register and submit articles on Hometipster.com and share information that will inspire our readers with ideas for their home or garden.
Hometipster.com is NOT a ‘dumping ground‘ for worthless content where the only goal of the contributor is to obtain a ‘back-link’ for their client in order to get paid. Please note that anyone registering to submit shallow, uninteresting content with just his purpose in mind will have their accounts terminated. We are more than happy to allow anyone to include a back-link within an outstanding article. The rules for creating back-links can be seen below.
Remember: Our readers are paramount to our success, so we ask that the articles you submit are entertaining, inspirational and useful to our readers.
How Much Does it Cost?
We charge a £10.00 review fee. This fee is payable once you have submitted your article for editorial review. The fee is NOT a guarantee of publication it is charged to cover our costs of reviewing your article.
Once we receive your submission we will email you with a PayPal invoice for the £10.00 review fee. You must pay this within 24 hours upon receipt. Failure to do so will result in your article being deleted.
Why Do You Charge a Review Fee?
It comes down to two factors:
1. This covers our cost for time and effort in reviewing articles that are submitted to us.
2. Research clearly shows that people will not arbitrarily submit articles without ensuring they fully comply with our Guidelines and Terms (see below).
A fee effectively weeds out those contributors who simply want to achieve a back-link for their clients without considering if their articles are of a sufficient quality.
The truth is that we are NOT interested in shallow or low quality content that’s only purpose is to include a back-link for your website or that of your clients.
The review fee effectively ensures that what we do ultimately publish passes all our guidelines and our reader’s panel review.
Is the Review Fee Refundable if my Article is not Published?
No, the review fee pays for our time and efforts in reviewing your article. If you are a good writer and are able to produce high-quality articles then you won’t have anything to worry about.
If your article does NOT meet our standards or comply with our guidelines and terms (see below) we may, at our discretion, provide you with an opportunity to amend your article without further review payment. On these occasions and in the event your article does not meet our standards it will be deleted.
Guidelines and Options for Publishing an Article on Hometipster.com
Rule No.1 Relevancy
Your article must be relevant to the Home and Garden. We DO NOT accept articles regarding commercial premises or anything that is not relevant to the Home and Garden.
Rule No.2 Internal and External Links
You may include up to THREE external links, however any links must be relevant to the content of the article you produce. Please note the minimum word count for including external links:
400 Words – One Link
600 Words – Two Links
800 Words + – Three Links
We may, at our discretion either remove any links or include a “nofollow” attribute to any links included in an article submitted. To avoid such a penalty please ensure that ALL links are relevant to the article.
Rule No.3 Author’s Bio
Author’s Bio – You may include ONE link within your Author’s Bio however any such link will carry a “nofollow”.
Google Authorship – You must include your Google + Account within your Author’s Bio and link back to each article you create. Failure to include your Google + Account will prevent us from publishing any of your articles. Note that each article you create, and that we publish, must be linked back from your Google + account and failure to do so will result in the removal of the article and termination of your account.
PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY: If we publish your article you will receive an email confirming publication with a URL to the article. You MUST then link the article to your Google + Account and confirm the link via an email within 24 hours. Failure to comply will result in the article being edited to remove all external links plus attribute the article to the Hometipster.com account.
Here is an example of how to set up your Author’s Bio Text:

Rule No.4 Readability
Your articles must be written with the correct use of English Grammar. Any articles submitted with poor levels of English Grammar and Spelling will NOT be published.
Rule No.5 Article Content
You must include at least TWO images which must be uploaded to Hometipster.com. You must have either copyright over the image you use or have permission to use it. We use this image to include in our Homepage Slider – No images = We can’t publish it.
Our reader’s like to see visual representations of what the article is about. Therefore the use of images, video and infographics is essential to making up an outstanding article. It is NOT a requirement to include video or infographics however our Reader’s Panel noticeably provides high ‘Star Ratings’ for those articles that do include these features.
Your article must be unique. We check for duplication on the web and any such breach of this rule will result in the termination of your account.
Your article must NOT be a “Sales Pitch”; that is with the remit of simply trying to sell a product or service from a particular company and within a particular geographical location.
Your article must NOT contain an Author’s Bio within the body text. This may be included in your Profile Settings. Any such information found within the body text will be removed, including any links within the text.
How Do You Rate the Articles on Hometispter.com?
As you can see each article is rated with a STAR system. The ratings range from 0.5 to 5. The higher the Star Rating the better our Reader’s Panel thinks your article is. Our Reader’s Panel is made up of real readers who offer their time to review articles and then provide a Star Rating.
Here’s a basic overview of how to get a higher Star Rating for the articles you produce:
Including images that provide a picture representation of what you are talking about is a definite way to impress our Reader’s Panel.
Including a Video.
Including an INFOGRAPHIC.
Provide valuable information that inspires homeowners. What they don’t want to see is an article that is simply thrown together with the intention of selling a product and or service.
Think about the creation of your article carefully. The whole idea of creating an article, for most contributors, is to create a valuable back-link and drive our readers to visit the website from the link. The only way for this to happen is for you to write an article that is inspiring and one that will prompt our readers to share what you have written.
Will My Article Get Featured on the Monthly Newsletter?
We base our newsletter content on the Star Ratings that our Reader’s Panel has awarded. In order for an article to be considered it must achieve a Star Rating of no less than 2.

Terms & Conditions
1. Review Fee
On submitting your article we levy a fee of £10.00. You will receive an email to our PayPal account where the fee must be paid within 24 hours. Failure to pay for the review will result in the deletion of your article.
Review fees are non-refundable and the editor’s decision is final. You accept that we have the right to decline publication of any article we deem unfit for publication without any rights to a refund or compensation.
2. Unique Content
DO NOT submit articles that have been farmed, scraped or copied from other web sites. We undertake a number of checks to ensure each submission is unique in its content and where it cannot be found on any other website or blog. If we detect any form of plagiarism we will not publish the article. We take plagiarism seriously and evidence of this can result in the termination of your account.
IMPORTANT – Please ensure that any images or video that you upload is either owned by yourself or you have express written permission, by the copyright owners, to use such content.
3. Duplicating Guides
DO NOT post your article on other websites or blogs after we have published your content. We check for duplicate content on a regular basis. If we find your articles to be in violation we will automatically suspend your account and remove all articles that you have submitted. Pending a review this may also result in your account being terminated.
4. Relevant Content
Your guide must be Home and Garden related. We do NOT accept content outside these areas. Please note that the scope of our categories is wide and varied, for instance we publish guides on all forms of architecture, interior design, exterior design, art, landscaping, crafts & hobbies, health & beauty and much more.
Please note that your article should contain at least 400 words.
5. Useful Content
If you are submitting a ‘Project Guide, for example ‘How to Mend a Broken Fence’ it must be in the form of ‘Step-by-Step’ instructions that clearly shows readers how to achieve a particular project or task. Submitting Articles can take any form but we do not allow articles that are designed solely to promote a product or service (a sales pitch). You must provide content that is useful to the reader. The key to getting your content published is to provide something that is useful and or informative to the reader.
6. Copyright
You agree to grant Hometipster.com copyright of any articles submitted and published. We may, at our discretion, modify or remove any or all articles as we see fit.

7. URL & Links
You may include Text Links to a website or blog within the rules above. You must NOT use an Anchor Text Link that uses the same words within the TITLE of the article.
8. Publishing Your Guide
You may submit as many articles as you like, however, we cannot, and do not, guarantee that any of your articles will be published. Publishing articles is at the sole discretion of the Editor-in-Chief. Due to the volume of submissions publishing can take several weeks. We will let you know:
A) If your article has been accepted and;
B) When it is published on our pages. Please be patient.
9. Removal of Guides
We reserve the right to modify or remove articles that become obsolete or outdated in terms of its usefulness as content. We review each article once every 12 months in order to keep the information up-to-date and relevant. In most cases the content is modified in order to keep it relevant and live online, however we do reserve the right to remove content. If we modify content we will NOT remove the URL Back-Link or Promotional Text Link. We DO guarantee that the content you submit, providing it is approved by our editors, will remain live for a minimum period of 6 months.
10. SPAM Content
No content is published on our website until it has undergone editorial review. Any person(s) registering and submitting SPAM content will immediately and without notification have their account(s) terminated.
